Glossary
Stable AgentOS terms and the boundaries they name.
Agent
A model-driven actor that owns a bounded outcome through a harness. Capitalized for the AgentOS organizational concept.
Assignment
The active bounded outcome bound to one accountable Agent. Handoffs create history rather than rewriting ownership.
Captain
The human role—held by a person or team—that owns purpose, risk and consequential decisions.
Crewmate
A bounded ship or scout worker for one Assignment.
First Mate
The Captain-facing persistent Agent that accepts intent, forms the Fleet and supervises direct reports.
Fleet
The AgentOS organization and its connected native authorities.
Harness
The runtime that gives a model session, context, tools, permissions, sandboxing and recovery.
Herdr
The native terminal and harness-session surface used by AgentOS runtimes.
Second Mate
A persistent First-Mate report with one durable domain charter and its own Crewmate subtree.
Task
Stable accepted intent that can survive several Assignments.
Wake hint
A targeted notification that prompts reconciliation. It carries no durable business meaning by itself.
Standing authority
A durable, exact human decision covering a narrow repeatable class of consequences.
